How Does AstroPay Card Work?

As a new customer, you’re required to register an account with AstroPay. Once the application is completed, a link to your account is sent via email. Verify your account, complete the final stages of the registration process and the account is ready to be used.

Buying your prepaid card is as simple as selecting a payment method for the purchase and choosing an amount to load the card with. The payment methods available will vary based on your country of residence and will affect how quickly card details are made available to you. For example, a credit card purchase is authorized immediately resulting in the quick receipt of your virtual card details while a bank transfer takes a few days to process and causes the delayed use of your account.

Card details sent: customers will receive a 16 digit card number, expiration date and CVV code.

The cards are valid for 1 year. Multiple purchases are allowed but once the value has been spent, customers must buy a new one.

The security of the card is ensured by the company’s compliance with the local banking regulations in the countries where the solution is available. Depending on the laws in your region, the number of cards and their values may be capped at a certain amount as required. Please note that online gambling restrictions are considered and could make this option off limits to players in unregulated countries.

Pros & Cons

Any remaining funds on the card may not be used after the 12-month expiration date and will not be returned to the purchaser. They boast that the card is a free payment option but this applies only to the purchase as transaction fees may apply.

On the plus side, customers may have multiple cards and merge balances. We’ve all had cards with small amounts left on them so this is a handy feature. Being a virtual card, you don’t have to worry about carrying around a physical card but then again, be sure not to lose the email with all the card details in it!
