Grand Royal Antiguan Beach & Electronic Casino

Located on the Five Islands on the western coast of Antigua is the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort which also happens to have its own casino. The hotel has 265 rooms across two wings and 8 storeys. There’s also an additional 12 one-bedroom cottages. All rooms have king sized or 2 double beds and are equipped with air conditioning and cable television and come in mountain view, lagoon view, ocean view or cottage. Dining and drink venues can be found on site. Facilities include tennis courts, a fitness centre, swimming pools, shopping outlets and an internet café. Ask hotel staff about the various guided tours they offer.

Dining

For beach-front, open-air a la carte dining, head to The Andes on Deep Bay Waterfront Restaurant. When looking for breakfast and themed dinner buffets, there’s The Lagoon Café. For fine dining, choose The Barrington Restaurant, with menu items such as smoked salmon, lobster, scallops and oysters. Light eats are served at Jimmy’s Beach Bar and Grill, located on the beach.

Attractions/NightLife

The resort runs various planned activities so be sure to check for the events calendar. For daytime activities there’s a plethora of water sports like swimming, snorkeling and diving. Check out any number of beaches as well as the lagoons and coral reefs. Evenings, head to The Club. The nightclub provides dancing, djs, karaoke and live entertainment. When you need to cut loose and kick off your heels head here after 7 pm. Attractions of interest in and around the area include Great Bird Island, Fort Barrington, Shirley Heights and Indian Town National Park. If you’re traveling during August, keep an eye out for Antigua Carnival with its pageants, talent shows, parades and live music. For downtime, enjoy drinks poolside or try your luck in the casino.
