Located in south-east Botswana about 70 km from the capital is the town of Lobatse. Think of the casino as a nice little stop-over between destinations, and a nice space inside out of the sun when you need to get your bearings and feel like a bit of light gaming. There’s two options for lunch – a la carte dining or a buffet, both running from 12:30 until 2:30 pm. For dinners, it’s an a la carte menu from 7:30 pm until 10 pm. They also offer a snack menu from the hours of 9:30 am until 9:30 pm. For Mexican style grilled chicken there’s Chicanos Chicken Grill. If you’re interested in try some authentic Botswanan cuisine, head into town looking for local eateries and be adventurous by trying something completely new!

Attractions/NightLife

When you just want to sit back and relax to your favourite drink and light background music, then you want the Blue Diamond Bar. This venue runs from 11 am until 11 pm (except for Sundays when it closes at 10). If you prefer to sip drinks poolside, or take in a sporting event, try Mokgotleg Poolside Bar, open daily from 11 am until 11 pm, and 10 pm Sundays. Head into town looking for your own new favourite watering-hole when you feel like rubbing shoulders with the locals. Expect to spend a bit of time on the road as some of the more interesting places to visit are a little out of the way. About 50 km out you can find the Gaborone Nature Reserve. Or try the Mokolodi Nature Reserve. In Mokolodi you can check out the White Rhinos, wild cheetahs, elephants, a reptile park, and crocodile pond among other things. Take a nature walk or even go bird-watching. Be sure to have plenty of film. If you’re keen on challenging hikes and rock climbing, further out in Groot Marico you can these ad other activities. Locally, be sure to check out some of the remains of older villages like those of the Ngwaketse and Bangwaketse.
