Northern Lights Casino

Located in what is known as ‘The Gateway to the North’ this 45,000 sq ft. facility opened in 1996 and has undergone several renovations in their effort to remain modern. In 2009 the casino won ‘nightclub of the year’ for their 3rd consecutive year. When not at the casino enjoy golf at Cooke Municipal Golf Course or go hiking at Prince Albert National Park or Meadow Lake Provincial Park. The casinos runs daily from 9 am to 4 am.

Gaming

The casino has 525 of your favourite video and classic slots and 11 table games including 5 blackjack tables, roulette, phil’em up, let it ride and 2 Texas Hold’em tables. Look for blackjack tournaments every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are several hotels within a block of the casino. The closest is next door, the Prince Albert Inn, with its double and queen guestrooms, family rooms, executive suites, deluxe queen suites and honeymoon suites. Rooms include 32 inch tvs, fridge, safe and air conditioning. Facilities include a fitness centre and indoor pool. Ask the casino about their stay and play packages with nearby hotels such as the Comfort Inn, Travelodge, Ramada, Holiday Inn Express and Super 8.

Dining

The NorthStar Restaurant seats 96 people and offers an international-style buffet. They have daily lunch specials and a la carte dining with appetizers, soups and salads. Try the southwest sushi, peppercorn dry ribs or Texas wings. Hours of operation are Sunday to Wednesday 11 am to 10 pm, with everyday buffets from 11 am to 2 pm. Supper buffet runs from 5 pm to 8 pm. Ask about their daily lunch specials. The Deli has a 12 seating capacity and serves sandwiches, salads and daily soups. Grab a quick snack before heading back to the gaming floor.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Starlight Lounge hosts various acts and monthly dinner shows. Look for weekend entertainment with tribute bands, live local bands and djs. Acts have included the Blue collar and dinner shows featuring Daylin James and Sweet Tequila. Check out Monday night fiddling. The Starlight Lounge is open Monday through Wednesday 11 am to 10 pm and Thursday to Saturdays from 11 am to 2 am and closed on Sundays. Phone ahead or check online for upcoming acts.
