Casino de Juegos del Pacifico

Located in the San Antonio province in the Valparaiso Region, is the Chilean port city of San Antonio. The port probably sees more action than all others on the western coast of South America. If you’re interested in the fishing boats or perhaps even some seafood dinners, head here during the day. To check out the indigenous flora, or maybe for hiking, go to La Campana National Park. This 80 km sq. park houses one of the last Chilean Wine Palm (Jubaea Chilensis) forests. This may be one of the quieter cities on your Chilean tour in regards to attractions, but the port itself is rather busy. Of course, there’s always the casino when you just feel like getting inside and relaxing to a few hands of cards.

The casino has 338 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals plus an additional 18 table games which consist of blackjack, Caribbean poker, Go Poker, draw poker, Texas Hold’em poker, craps and American roulette. When you’ve had your fill of cards and slots, there’s also a bingo hall which can seat up to 148 players. Be sure to talk to casino staff about bingo session times so as to not miss any during your stay. The casino is open 11 am until 3 am, except for Saturdays and holidays where the hours are 11 am until 5 am. The casino runs various promotions and contests so be sure to find out which if any are running during your visit.

Hotel/Accommodations

Unfortunately, there aren’t too many hotels in the area, at least, those which have much information about them. Your best bet if you happen to be in the area is speak to staff about any hotel near the casino or practise your Spanish and asking locals about any close by they'd recommend. Nearby options appear to be the Marta Elena Del Carmen Toro Sto, the Hotelera Llo lleo, the Chamorro y Venegas, the Maria Amelia Madones Sanchez and the Cabanas Altas Cumbres.

Dining

At the casino you can find Frigate, serving your favourite cocktails as well as an international menu. Looked for themed nights as well as meal specials. There are a small number of restaurants nearby. Two eateries near the casino are the La Islita and the El Dorado Restaurant. Your best bet is to either hoof it around the area, seeing which venues grab your interest or speaking to casino staff for recommendations on places close by popular with the locals. You’re sure to find though, somewhere nearby dishing up authentic Chilean cuisine. Try around the main square, or the docks and markets if you’re looking for seafood. The market is also a good stop for picking up supplies.

Attractions/NightLife

There are two bars at the casino serving up all your favourite cocktails. Ask about happy hours and drink specials. Head to the docks and port to check out the fishing boats and their daily haul or to the main square for markets to pick up produce, seafood and to haggle for souvenirs. To check out the indigenous flora and fauna go to the La Campana National Park. Be sure to check out the palm forest here. Trek the Cerro la Campana, which lends its name to the park. In 1834 Darwin himself was here during his voyages. At the end of the square, look for the 82 Crane (Grua 82); as part of the port, it also happens to be a national monument.
