Located on the southern shore of the Tinguiririca River in the O’Higgins Region of the Colchagua Valley, is the city of Santa Cruz. The city has a fair bit of well-preserved colonial architecture making for pleasant strolls throughout the region while visiting various attractions. There are no dining facilities in the casino but can be found just next door in the hotel. The Varientals at Santa Cruz Restaurant serves up the best Chilean cuisine has to offer. 43 dishes use the finest local ingredients like Lolol oil, Cahuil salt and Peralillo cheeses and meals can be complimented by the best wines the region has to offer. During the week, meals are a la carte but Creole buffets are offered on weekends, where meats are grilled on their outdoor BBQ. For standard fare like pizzas, salads and sandwiches, opt for The Tambo, also located in the hotel by the pool and great for when you want to enjoy your glass of wine poolside.

The casino runs live entertainment so be sure to ask staff what’s on their current schedule. Enjoy your drinks in the casino, but if you’re truly a wine lover, choose Bar Shaman with its broad selection, focusing on those wines produced in the region. The city is a great place if you’re keen on architecture, having several standing well-maintained colonial buildings. Take a wine tour and sample the best wines the region has to offer. Head to the Plaza de Armas, specifically the Carillon clock, which doubles as an interactive tourist information centre to best find out what to do and where to visit in the city.
