The casino doesn’t have the hugest offering, but perhaps enough when a little R and R is required out of the hot sun. The casino has 21 slots and video poker machines and an additional 18 table games including blackjack, punto banco, American roulette and poker.

The Ramses Hilton offers 771 rooms in city, river or pool views. Room types are guest, suite and executive and have satellite lcd tvs and internet access. Room service runs 24 hours daily and hot and cold breakfast buffets are provided at additional cost. Facilities and amenities include a health club, outdoor pool, spa, a business centre and meeting rooms. On site are a multi-lingual staff, a poolside bar, snack bar, restaurants and the casino.

Dining

Find your own quaint eatery downtown or choose to dine at the hotel. The Citadel Grill with its open kitchen brings you Mediterranean specialties and diners can enjoy live music. The Maharaja Restaurant serves up Indian cuisine and has a tandoori-show cooking area. They’re open with limited hours of lunches 1 pm to 4 pm and dinners from 7 pm to 12 am. High on the 36th floor you can find Windows on the World, with its panoramic views and international cuisine. For Egyptian specialties and dinner buffets, dine during an evening sunset in the Terrace Café. For light eats, try the Garden Court Café with its live music. For British classics like bangers and beans and shepherd’s pie, go to Sherlock Holmes Pub.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Stroll into the downtown core and discover your own new favourite bar or nightclub or try Sherlock Holmes Pub in the hotel, with its widescreen tv and classic British fare and ales. Live music is performed during meals in both the Citadel Grill and Garden Court Café. Tour the city visiting all the local attractions, some of which include, Cairo towers, the Pharaonic Village, the pyramids of Giza and the Cairo Opera House. Museums include the Coptic Museum, the Egyptian Museum and the Museum of Islamic Art. For shopping, try Khan El Kahilil bazaar or any number of local markets. Chat up both hotel and casino staff about any lesser-known local curiosities.
