Taba Hilton Resort & Casino

Near the southern border between Egypt and Israel lies Taba, and with it, the Taba Hilton Resort and Casino. Aside from the gambling and resort amenities there are a few things to do if vacationing in the area. Head over to Castle Zaman, east of the Sinai Peninsula. After taking in the monument itself, enjoy a dinner inside consisting of meat and seafood, figs and dates or take the tour of the underground treasure room. To further explore the history of the region, there’s the Taba Museum, located across the road from the bus station. For nightlife, there’s several bars and clubs at the resort itself. For days, there’s snorkelling and scuba diving in the Red Sea.

Gaming

The casino is actually rather light on their slots and video poker offering, with only 38 machines in total, but they do have an additional 19 table games for those who lean more toward cards when it comes to challenging Lady Luck. Games here include blackjack, Caribbean stud and roulette. Try your hand and maybe good run will help finance a nice afternoon of shopping or an evening out for drinks. Catch the pit boss’ eye and perhaps lesser advertised perks or benefits may be in the cards.

Hotel/Accommodations

The hotel offers rooms in Deluxe and Deluxe Room Plus, with views of the mountains, gardens and sea, and come equipped with air conditioning, premium tv and wireless internet. The hotel has its own bars and restaurants on site and live entertainment. If traveling with family, ask about their Kids Club as well as their Kids Disco. Pamper yourself with a pedicure at the beauty salon. Speak to staff about tours, planned activities and scheduled events (like live entertainment) as well as organized excursions like scuba-diving.

Dining

If you haven't chosen to eat in town and finding your own quaint venue serving up Egyptian cuisine, there’s several dining establishments back at the hotel. The Casa Taba is open for dinners with its seafood entrees and ocean-view dining. Please note, this venue is for guests ages 16 and above only. For a mix of Asian and Egyptian cuisine, there’s Marhaba Restaurant, with menu items like Monofaia couscous and Housseineya soup. When you’re interested in something a bit more gut-filling, Palm Court brings you themed buffets daily, serving breakfasts, lunches and dinners and a poolside terrace. Light snacks can also be found at some of the resort’s bars.

Entertainment/Nightlife

A great way to spend a sunny afternoon is with a cold beer on the veranda, which is exactly what you’ll find at Nelson Village Pub, also serving soups, snacks and pizza. Pirates Bar, open until sunset, serves drinks, also with quick bites like sandwiches, wings and ice cream. During the evening, head on over to Rainbow Bar and Lounge with its nightly live entertainment such as belly dancing. For dancing and drinks, there’s Rocks Disco. Kids can come early but this venue becomes adults only after 11 pm. For those more athletically inclined, day sports include tennis, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. For water sports, there’s snorkelling and scuba-diving. Ask resort staff about organized excursions.
