The casino also has a poker room featuring Texas Hold’em poker. So whether you’re interests include bingo, slots, poker or other table games, the casino has a little bit of everything to satisfy. Test your luck in a bit of each and it may ease the burden of some dinner and bar bills.Hotel/Accommodations
There are no hotels on site, but just 0.2 km from the casino you can find the Eco-Hotel Arbol de Fuego. They offer 19 rooms, provide free internet and have a spa on site. The hotel’s intent is to be eco-friendly, conserving water and energy and using planet-friendly products. San Salvador has several other accommodations throughout the city, from inns to large hotels. Find the one nearest the attractions you intend to visit or based on your budget and tastes. Regardless of where you choose to stay, ask staff for information on nearby attractions and help with tours and renting vehicles.Dining
While there are no dining establishments in either the hotel or casino, there are several throughout the city, so finding somewhere to take your meals shouldn’t be a problem. For a menu of various international items like pasta, quiche, salads, sandwiches and vegetarian options, there’s La Ventana, a restaurant that’s also a bar/lounge. Mexican dishes are served in Los Tacos de Paco. For quick eats, try Tipicos Margoth. If you head into the Zona Rosa, there’s a selection of restaurants as well. Talk to casino and hotel staff for suggestions on the best local eateries.Entertainment/Nightlife
When you’re looking to dance the night away, there’s Elements with its DJs and Pueblo Viejo with Latin dancing and live music Thursdays through Saturdays. This venue also serves meals. To find various different bars, walk along Zona Rosa. During days, check out the various attractions throughout the city. If you’re interested in architecture and history, there’s the National Palace and the National Museum of Anthropology. For religious structures, try the Catedral Metropolitana de San Salvador. To sample some regional culture, there’s the Teatro Nacional de El Salvador. To find monuments, try Plaza Gerardo Barrios (Civic Plaza) with its statue deicated to President Gaerardo Baarios, the statue of President Morazan in Plaza Morazan, and the Monumento de los Heroes in Plaza Libertad. After long days trekking through the city, head back to the hotel and pamper yourself in the spa.Rewards/Deals

From a Serious Blackjack Player: The Colonial used to be a solid option—but ever since Casino Emperatriz opened its doors with superior promotions, service, and overall player treatment, it’s been a steady decline. Standards have dropped hard. Case in point: I hold a Gold card, which used to come with $50 in match play. That’s now been slashed to $20. I had to cycle over $10,000 in play to earn that status, and now the benefits feel like a slap in the face. Even worse, Colonial pushes players onto continuous shuffling machines (CSMs), which ruin the rhythm of the game and feel rigged. You’ll see robotic hands—double down on 11 vs. dealer’s 6, get a 5, and somehow that dealer’s 6 morphs into 18. Again and again. Want a hand-shuffled table? Not until the CSM table is full—which almost never happens anymore because the place is empty. It's a blatant attempt to funnel players onto high-edge machines. It’s disrespectful to seasoned players who know the difference. Meanwhile, Emperatriz respects its patrons. They offer $30 in table match play to everyone and scale up to $50 without forcing you to lose five figures first. Promotions are actually built to benefit players—automatic payouts on 21, bonuses on suited trips, 10x payout on triple 7s, and real weekly loyalty rewards: up to $100 in match play just for showing up regularly. Food? Night and day. Emperatriz rotates quality menus—sushi, Italian, and more, with free drinks for all. Colonial? You’re lucky to get a stale sandwich unless you’re on the inside or holding a high-tier card. Their dinner service is passable, occasionally good, but far from consistent. Bottom line: As a table player, I see zero areas where Colonial outperforms Emperatriz. If you value real perks, fair play, and being treated like more than a number, the choice is obvious. Colonial has lost its edge—and its players.
