Santa Ana is the 2nd largest city in El Salvador and has roughly a quarter of a million people. There’s plenty of things to do in the city, whether you’re looking for religious or architectural sites or historical and cultural attractions. Highlights include the Catedral de Santa Ana, the Teatro de Santa Ana and the Museo Regional del Occidente. If you’re more the outdoors type, there’s hiking aplenty with the plethora of mountains and hills like Mount Loquat, Cerro Tacana, Cerro Camones and Cerro La Tortuga, to name a few. Sports fans may be interested in visiting the stadium Estadio Oscar Quiteno.

gaming

The casino brings you pretty much a bit of everything with its classic and video slot machines, table games like blackjack and roulette and bingo hall. The larger draw here though, is their stud poker, bringing poker aficionados from across El Salvador. After long days touring the city and checking out the various attractions, head into the casino to try your luck in slots and your hand in cards. A nice boost to your bankroll might afford you a few extra purchases in the markets.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site, however, just 0.4 km from the casino you can find the Hotel Sahara. Exercise caution as the hotel is in a less than desirable neighbourhood, but the rooftop terrace allows for some magnificent views of the city. Santa Ana is a rather large city with other accommodations available if you don’t much mind about the convenient proximity to the casino. Choose the one nearest the attractions you intend to visit or in line with your budget and comfort levels.

Dining

Carnivores should head to Lover’s Steakhouse, with their extensive appetizer and entrée menu, with items including steaks and seafood, in various international cuisines. Enjoy your drinks, apps and dinners in their open-air courtyard. For more classic dinners like steak but with live music, try Los 44. For lunches like burgers and sandwiches there’s Paso de Alaska. For quick and easy fare, there’s Café Fiesta, Drive Inn El Molino and Cafeteria Emanuel. Other dining options can be found when walking through the Zona Rosa.

Entertainment/NightLife

When it’s drinks and dancing you’re after there’s Los Horcones or the Drive Inn El Molino. The Zona Rosa also has several bars and clubs if you don’t mind the ride into San Salvador. There’s a fair few attractions throughout the city. To stroll through history try the Museo Regional del Occidente. If you’re interested in religious sites and structures, there’s the Catedral de Santa Ana, built in 1913. When you’ve had your fill of strolling through the city and it’s time to pick up those back home souvenirs, head over to Mercado de Artesanias or Mercado Central. Travellers need to be aware of potential unsavoury elements within the city, so use caution when visiting certain neighbourhoods and be mindful of pickpockets when hitting the crowded markets. Travel in groups, during days, or keep to well-lit and busy streets.

Rewards/Deals

The casino does not have a player rewards system in place. Be sure to ask a casino representative about any possible contests or promotions which may be running during your visit.
