Casino Alvignac

Alvignac is a French commune in the department of Lot and in the region of Midi-Pyrenees, between Rocamadour and Padirac. Locals are called Avignacois. Various things to do and see in and around the area include the Spa of Miers Alvignac, the Lacave caves, and the prehistoric site of Fieux Miers. For landscape, check out the Ouysse canyon and the Dordogne and Cele Rivers. Visit the Penoutou Fountain, with its 4 troughs and iron cross. Castle Salgues and Farm Salgues hold deep historical roots still with remnants from their earlier days. Mills Alvignac Waters, formerly simply Alviganc Waters, held 5 water mills, 3 windmills and an oil mill. Today, the windmills and oil mill are non-existent. Best preserved, is the Salgues Mill. Leisure activities include hiking and checking out heritage buildings in the region.

The casino offers a fleet of 75 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals broken down as 24 slots at one and 2 cent denominations, 9 at 10 and 20 cents, 17 classic slots at 50 cents, and 1 and 2 EUR and 25 multi-denom machines. Dining

Dine in Le Bois des Daffodils, with its 2 dining rooms able to seat anywhere from 55 to 120 guests. Ask about hosting your next special event here. This venue will cater to birthdays, seminars, group meals and banquets. For traditional cuisine, there’s the Hotel du Chateau, with its restaurant within a Michelin-star recommended hotel. Other venues include Lion d’Or, with its traditional dishes, mouth-watering foie gras and delicious wines, Le Quinze, also in a Michelin-recommended hotel, and Le Centre.

Attractions/NightLife

For light bites, and bottled wine, try L’esplanade, a bar/pizzeria, or look for your own new favourite watering hole in town where you can chat up and hang with the locals. For convenience, you can enjoy drinks in the casino. In this rather quiet area, chances are the primary source for your entertainment will be the casino. Ask around about any lesser-known attractions or historical curiosities. Use your time to take in a good book or plan the next leg of your journey. Admire local architecture or practise your French. A few things to do, are view the remnants of Castle Salgues and Salgues Mill, check out Penoutou Fountain, and take in some interesting landscape like the Ouysse canyon and the Lacave caves. Visit the prehistoric site of Fieux Miers.
