Casino Frejus

Frejus is a French commune and sea-side resort located in the department of Var and the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur, on the shores of the Mediterranean. Locals here are called Frejusiens or Frejuliens. The population sits at just over 50,000 people. Familiarize yourself with the area by walking through several of the local neighbourhoods like Tour de Mare, Valescure Capitou, Villeneuve, Agachon and Port-Frejus beach. As co-founder of the ‘Cities and Crafts’ association, you shouldn’t have any problems exposing yourself to the local culture and history. Visit the local museums dedicated to naval troops, local history and archaeology. Cultural centres include the House of Trades Art and Space Albert Caquot. Watch a production in the Philippe Leotard Theatre or The Forum.

Breakfasts are served from 7:30 am until 10 am (as early as 7 am upon request) either in your room or out on the shaded terrace. The hotel also has a bar on site. Dining

Frejus, with its local port, is a great source for sampling some seafood dishes. You can also find some great regional wines here as well. Dine in Le Pavillon, a modern barasserie serving both traditional and refined cuisine. This venue is open daily from noon to 2 pm and 7 pm until 9 pm. For buffet dining, try Le Ponton, located on the first floor of the casino with its views of the pier and terrace dining. Open Fridays and Saturdays 7 pm to 10 pm and Sundays from noon to 2, this is where you want to go to get your fill. Other restuarants include L’Arena, steps from the casino and serving traditional cuisine, L’Amandier with its modern cuisine, and Le Merou Ardent for seafood fare. Don’t forget breakfast back at the hotel to begin your day full of energy.

Attractions/NightLife

Look for local festivals throughout the year such as Bravado held in April/May honouring Saint Francois de Paule, the Feast of St Pons in May, Feast of St John in June and the votive feast of St Aygulf in September. Other events include the Carnival in February, the Wine Festival in May, the Grape Festival in August, and the Feast of the Giant Omelette in December. Relax in the piano bar Saffron, open Wednesdays and Thursdays 6 pm to 1 am, Fridays and Saturdays 7 pm to 2 am and Sundays 4 pm to 11 pm. Bars in the area include Les Marines (also a restaurant), Le Caraibe, Lochness Pub and Kokonut. For dancing, there’s Le City Lounge and Discotheque La Playa. Religious sites include the Chapel of Saint-Francois de Paule, the Chapel of Sainte-Brigitte Reyran, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Notre Dame of Jerusalem, the Church of the Sacred Heart and Church St Roch.
