Casino Barrier La Baule

La Baule is a town located in the department of Loire-Atlantique in the region of Pays de la Loire. It boasts the longest coastline in Europe and sits at the Bay of Pouliguen. Tourism is big here and people come to enjoy the beaches. However, there’s also several attractions worth checking out during your La Baule holiday. Check out Blanche 54, the only monument in the city registered as a historic monument. The station of La Baule, built in granite, dates back to 1927. It’s installed 300 m from the original. The town is also quite scenic (aside from its stunning coastline). It was awarded four flowers in Cities and Villages in Bloom.

Dining

Dine in the casino restaurant, with its creative French meals, open daily from 12:15 to 7:30 pm. The hotel restaurant uses local produce in its regionally-inspired dishes. Menu items include foie gras, and such seafood as crayfish, monkfish, bass and squid. Be sure to complement your dinners with a selection from their extensive wine menu. For light eats, there’s B’Lounge, with its pastas, sandwiches and bruschetta. Trek through town choosing various eateries that draw your eye, and sample all the best that authentic French cuisine has to offer.

Attractions/NightLife

The casino night club is open Fridays and Saturdays. Ask about booking special events and look for discount appetizers. For dancing, there’s also Le Theatre, open June to September, 11 pm to 4 am. Non-summer hours are 11-4 Thursday through Sunday. Other options include Le Bax, Klimt Café and Le Sailor. Take in some of the indigenous fauna at Planete Sauvage at Saint-Pere en Retz, a 200 acre park with over 1000 animals. Tours include the Jungle Course and Bush Village. Other tours include the Saint-Nazaire Airbus Tour and the Saint-Nazaire STX Tour, a walk-through of old shipyards. For more outdoors action, there’s the Briere Nature Park, ideal for hiking and cycling. Other attractions include the Guerande Medieval City, the Guerande Salt Marshes, the Croisic Oceanarium (over 2000 species of marine life), and the church of Saint-Pierre Escoublac, built in 1786.
