Casino de Pornic

Located in western France in the department of Loire-Atlantique (Region Pays de la Loire) is the town of Pornic. The population of the local Pornic as they are called, sits at around 14,000. The area’s main resources have been historically, a combination of seafood and tourism, so for those visiting the area, be sure not to only sample regional cuisine, but a broad selection of seafood dishes. Strawberries are also popular here due to their farms. They are also famous for their pottery. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, you can also look forward to stunning views, sea-side strolls, and weather permitting, some sunning and swimming. Land activities include 18-hole golf.

Gaming

The casino is open daily, operating from 10 am until 3 am. They offer 125 classic and video slot machines (and video poker) coming in denominations as low as one cent and go as high as $5. Dining

Dine in La Restaurant de Casino with its views of Old Port of Pornic. Meals are formulaic and hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday noon until 2:30 pm and 7 pm until 11 pm, and Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays as late as 1 am. For classic and gourmet French cuisine, opt for The Retz. Choose your own favourite eateries in town. Try along the water front for seafood dishes.

Attractions/NightLife

Since 1993, the town has the ‘Sensational Festival’ with its assorted cultural events. Night life here is not as available in some of the other towns but there are a couple of venues. Try The Viking or Les Enfants Terribles. You may want to restrict your evenings of drinking to the casino. Local attractions include the Clion Church, going back to the 8th and 9th centuries (and rebuilt in the 17th and 19th), Castle Pornic, built in the 8th century, remodeled in the 19th century, and purchased by local authorities in 1824, and the Mounds of Mousseaux, west of Pornic, with its three-leveled cairn. Weather permitting, you can hit the local beaches for some sunning and swimming, or funds permitting, you can opt for sailing. When out shopping, consider looking for potteries, famous to the region. As a historical note, Pierre-Auguste Renoir spent the summer of 1892 in Pornic where he painted 4 canvasses.
