Casino de Pornichet

Located in western France in the department of Loire-Atlantique is the town of Pornichet. Locals are called Pornichetins and the population currently sits around 10,500 people. Pornichet is a resort of the Cote d’Amour and began developing back in the 19th century, due to its seaside tourism. Sailing is rather popular here, and in 1983, the town hosted the 4th edition of the Ariane’s Cup. The town prides itself on its beautification and has won numerous awards including ‘four flowers’ and the ‘golden flower trophy’. Locals remain active though use of their 4 sports facilities, dedicated to soccer, basketball, tennis, rugby, handball and tennis. Dining

Head to Restaurant Vue Panoramique, open daily, seating up to 50 people. Hours of operation are noon to 2:30 pm and 7 pm to 10:30 pm Sunday through Thursday, and until 11:30 pm Fridays and Saturdays. Back at the hotel, there’s the Entre Terre et Mer, open noon to 2 pm and 7 pm to 10 pm. Head into town choosing quaint eateries, pastry shops, cafes, creperies or fine dining establishments. Sample a bit of everything regional cuisine has to offer.

Attractions/NightLife

If you’re in the area during summer, look for the Renc’Arts Festival, with its street theatre and art. Over in Quai des Arts, there’s theatre, concerts and various cultural performances. Pornizan ar Fest is held in July and has parades, traditional dance and music. In August, you can find ‘Raise Ho’, a nautical festival. Come night fall, hit some of the local pubs and clubs like Bar D’Ambience or Bidule. For architecture, there’s Villa Soft Farniete, built back in 1870 or the Saint Sebastian chapel, going back to the 15th century.
