Casino de Saint Paul les Dax- Cesar Palace

Saint Paul-les-Dax is a French commune located in south-western France in the department of Landes and the region of Aquitaine. Locals are called Saint-Paulois. This rather scenic town was awarded 3 flowers for its beautification efforts in the Cities and Villages in Bloom. It is also home to various hot springs, famous for their alleged healing properties. Areas of interest, aside from the churches, parks and gardens, include Fontaine Chaude (literally ‘hot fountain’) and Lac de Christus. Dine in Tex-Mex Restaurant El, open 7 days a week, dinners only, open until 11 pm weekdays and midnights Fridays and Saturdays. Enjoy your meal out on the terrace overlooking the lake. For creative cuisine and more terrace dining, there’s Le Comptoir JOA, open daily for lunches and dinners. Look for menu items like foie gras, squid and whole duck. Hours of operation are noon to 2 pm, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm Monday through Thursday and Sundays, and until 10 pm Fridays and Saturdays. Other restaurants include Le Relais des Plages, serving French cuisine, La Maison du Lac, also French cuisine, and Buffalo Grill, dishing up American fare.

Attractions/NightLife

Aside from the casino itself, there are other recreational activities available within the complex, such as dancing within Tex-Mex, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 pm, bowling (8 lanes), and billiards. Visit various water-based attractions around town such as hot springs, Fontaine Chaude and Lac de Christus. Religious sites include the Church of Saint-Vincent-de-Xaintes and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame Ste-Marie. The Church of St Paul dates back to the 12th century. Check out an ancient Roman crypt, with remnants of a Roman temple dating back to the 2nd century AD, and the remains of the Gaul-Roman walls from the 4th century.
