Casino de Vittel

Vittel is a French commune located in the department of Vosges and the region of Lorraine, approximately 40 km west of Epinal. Locals here are called Vittellois. The region is known for its mineral water and the local spas were all marked as historical sites in 1990. To learn more about the thermal history of Vittel, visit Heritage House. You can visit the nearby shrine which houses the source of the Demoiselles, dating back to 1859. The spa itself goes back to 1884, with the spa lobby from 1905, the Grand Gallery (1938), the palmarium and indoor pool (1911-1936) and the flag of the Great Source (1930). Early in the 20th century, sports-spa facilities were created. Look for the racetrack with its grandstand (1904), the lawn tennis flag (1911), the PMU Chalet (1923), the Institute of Physical Education (1926), and the Cadet pavilion (1930). Religious sites include the Church of St Louis (after Louis Bouloumie, founder of the spa), dating back to 1910, the Saint Privat Church, from the 16th century, labelled a historic monument in 1926, and the Church of St Remy, from as early as the 15th century.
