Located on the south side of the island of Grande-Terre, you can find Le Gosier, and with it, the Casino de Gosier. Grande-Terre (literally ‘large land’) is ideal for those who gravitate to water based activities while on their holidays. Head over to Plage de Gosier when you want to take in some sunning and swimming, and perhaps even snorkelling and scuba diving. Take the plunge yourself or splurge on a guided snorkelling tour, highlighting the best areas while in the company of trained professionals. If you’re not so keen on the deep waters, try the Wiki Waterpark. If you prefer to view your marine life up close, yet not so personally, there’s the Aquarium de la Guadeloupe which opened its doors in 1987 and showcases a selection of some of the indigenous 1200 molluscs, 600 fish and 70 species of coral.

gaming

The casino offers 115 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals as well as a selection of table games including blackjack with a $10 limit. The casino runs from 10 am until 4 am daily, and high stakes table games start at 8:30 pm nightly. Be forewarned, the casino charges a cover to enter the building, so swing by only if you intend on staying to play.

Hotel/Accommodations

The Hotel Arawak offers 199 rooms across 3 separate buildings and underwent renovations as recent as 2006. Rooms come equipped with cable television and air conditioning, and are broken down into the room types of suites, duplexes and junior suites, generally dependent upon the floors you opt for. The hotel is near several local attractions and is close to the Pointe a Pitre Airport. There is also nearby beach access. You can find dining and wining venues on site.

Dining

The casino restaurant serves buffets Tuesdays through Saturdays for breakfast, lunches and themed dinners and meal times are 6 am until 9:30 am, noon to 2 pm and 7:30 pm until 10 pm. They also offer an a la carte menu. Cuisines include international, Creole and American brasserie and menu items include grilled fish, meats and salads. Should you choose to dine off the resort, ask hotel or casino staff for suggestions on venues popular with locals and tourists or walk about and choose your new favourite eateries.

Attractions/NightLife

Hit one of two bars, depending on the time of day you choose to go out. Bar Karakoli is open from 10 am until 5 pm, while Bar Paillote runs from 5 pm until 11 pm. There’s pretty much any sort of water activity you can participate in, either arranged or found in the resort, or which you can plan yourself. These can include kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, and scuba diving. Sunning or swimming are always cheap, easy alternatives. Other activities include volleyball, golf and ping pong and evening entertainment at the resort includes karaoke, live music and dance lessons. Other things to do in town include visiting the Musee Saint-John Perse, Schoelcher Museum, the Basilica of St. Peter, Place de la Victoire and the Aquarium de la Guadeloupe. You can also opt to relax poolside, hang out in the hotel bar, or pamper yourself with a massage.

Rewards/Deals

The casino does not currently have a player rewards system in place. Be sure to ask a casino host or hostess about any potential promotions or contests that might be running during your stay.
