Casino Malindi

The Malindi district includes the resort towns of Malindi, Watamu and Mambrui and is a potpourri of various cultures including the Sawahili, Arabs, Indians, various African tribes and European settlers. As with most seaside resort areas, there’s plenty to do to fill your afternoons. With the beautiful coral reef beaches there’s snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. There’s plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs as well as shopping areas around and Malindi is just 10 minutes from the town centre. Areas of interest include the crocodile and snake farms, the butterfly pavilion and the Gede Ruins. And of course, there's always the casino in town.

Gaming

This oceanfront casino has slots (video, classic and progressive), in varying denominations as well as video poker terminals and table games such as blackjack, stud poker, Texas Hold’em, craps, pontoon, punto banco, mini punto banco and both French and American roulette. Hotel/Accommodations

There are currently no hotels on site. There’s several resorts nearby including the Coral Key, Silver Rock, Malindi Beach and Coconut Village. A hotel near the casino is the Eden Roc Hotel, with its 150 rooms coming in standard and deluxe, singles and doubles and with a view of the sea. There are also two restaurants on site.

Dining

If you’re staying at the hotel, there’s 2 restaurants on the premises. Main Restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and themed dinners with selections from varying cuisines like Italian and Swahili. Saturdays bring you Kenyan BBQs and diners can enjoy live music. Dhow Grill Restaurant, open from 9 am until 5 pm provides menu items like steaks and seafood, all enjoyed with a view overlooking the sea. Trip into town looking for cool little eateries serving up authentic African dishes. Be sure to ask casino and hotel staff for recommendations on popular places.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s several places on interest in town aside from the shopping, bars and restaurants. Check out both the crocodile and snake farms or visit the butterfly pavilion. To explore local history there’s the Malindi Museum as well as the Gede Ruins. Head to the waterfront to watch the fishing boats or take part in any number of water activities like swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and wind sailing. For drinks and live entertainment, try Palm Garden, for karaoke there’s Fermento Club and Piano Bar, and for dancing, go to Stardust Discotheque.
