Playcity Acapulco

Playcity Acapulco is located in (naturally) Acapulco. The city is actually called Acapulco de Juarez, but most are familiar with the diminutive. The city is a well-known tourist destination and certainly, a big draw here, are the beaches. A popular stop for vacationers and cruise ships, you won’t have any problem finding accommodations, restaurants, bars and clubs, shopping and other things to fill your days and nights. If you're a sun god or goddess it may be hard to drag yourself away from the beaches, but if you do, head on over to the casino.

Gaming

As part of the Playcity family, you’re likely to find a bit of everything from classic and video slots (in various denominations) to table games. Look for bingo sessions and sports betting, the latter for horses and dogs as well as international sporting events. The casino runs various promotions and contests and uses a player rewards system where you can collect points for later redemption. Be sure to ask as well about any live entertainment.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site but you need only go 0.2 km to find the nearest one. The Crowne Plaza, located in the Golden Zone, is about 5 minutes from the downtown core and 30 minutes from the Acapulco International Airport. Rooms here come equipped with private balconies, 32” tvs and free internet access. Facilities and amenities include a whopping 8 swimming pools including a pool bar, a lobby bar, 4 restaurants, a fitness centre (open 8-8), 24,000 sq ft of meeting space which can house 1200 people and beach-front access. Live entertainment is also run so be sure to see what’s in store.

Dining

Beside the lobby bar, you can find Los Arcos, with its a la carte Mexican lunches. Note that reservations are required. A la carte dinners in Italian cuisine are served in I Pagliacci, where reservations are also required. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners can be found both in Los Caracoles, with its international buffets and in Nude at the Beach, also with international buffets and a la carte dining. There’s a plethora of restaurants throughout the city. Find the ones which most appeal to you as walk through the city, or ask casino staff for suggestions on popular venues.

Attractions/NightLife

Hey, this is Acapulco, so if you aren’t having fun, chances are you’re doing it wrong! An absolute tourist mecca, there’s an outstanding amount of bars and clubs about. Big names include El Alebrije, which can host up to 5000 people and an open bar until 5 am with cover fee. The Palladium overlooks the sea atop a cliff. If you prefer really upscale, there’s Baby O’s. For more options, try along La Costera. You can’t visit Acapulco without hitting the beaches. There’s any number of activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, surfing and the more mundane swimming and sunning If you’re into R and R. Land activities include horseback riding or include the best of both by going cliff-diving. Combine water sports and entertainment by visiting the Centro Internacional de Convivencia Infantial, a sea life and water park, with wave pools, water slides and dolphin shows. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy golf on any number of golf courses like the Pierre Marques or the Acapulco Princess. General attractions include the Nuestra Senora de la Soledad Cathedral, and the San Diego Fort (built in 1616). For museums there’s the Casa de la Mascara and the Dolores Olmedo House. Look for local festivals throughout the year such as the Feast of San Isidro Labrador and Carnival.
