Casino Wingo Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca, capital and largest city in the Mexican state of Morelos, has been sometimes referred to as the Beverley Hills of Mexico. Mexico City is about 30 minutes away, a relatively short commute, and several affluent people who desire being near to, yet outside the big city, live here. This ‘City of Eternal Spring’ (due to its ideal climate) got its name from the Nuahatl ‘cuauhnahuac’, meaning ‘near the woods’. There’s a fair few good attractions worth checking out in the city. If you decide to rent transport, you can always drive over into Mexico City for an even greater assortment of things to do and see.

Gaming

The casino offers a selection of classic and video slot machines coming in assorted denominations. When you need to feed that bingo craving, they also have electronic bingo terminals. Should you be more interested in betting on and cheering for your personal favourite horses and sports teams, you can turn to the casino’s on-site sportsbook. Whichever route you happen to go, you should be able to knock out a couple hours indoors, spinning and (hopefully) winning, before heading back out into the city exploring the various areas of interest.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. Around 4 km from the casino you can find the Barcelo Cuernavaca Ejectivo. The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the historic city centre where you’ll have access to attractions, restaurants and night life. Facilities on site include a fitness centre, solarium, heated outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar. So as to best maximize your stay, be sure to ask hotel staff for information on all the popular, and even lesser-known, attractions in and around the area.

Dining

You shouldn’t have any problems finding regional cuisine, so be sure to sample all the best Mexican cuisine the city has to offer. Try a 4-course Mexican meal in Las Iguanas Green’s. For something as simple as tacos, try along the Calle de los Tacos where you can find Grano del Oro and other options. Along Plan d’Ayala, there’s La Cubano and Los Orientales. Restaurants nearby include Las Mananitas, which has a large garden, free-roaming peacocks and classic fare. If you’re looking for Italian, try Trattoria Marco Polo. For French cuisine, there’s La Provence. For Yucatecan, try El Faisan.

Attractions/NightLife

For salsa music and cheap drinks, try Los Arcos, especially around Tuesdays. If you’re interested in Mariachi music head to La Bola in the evenings. Rub shoulders with the locals in the cantinas La Taurina and Crudalia. For clubs, there’s El Alebrije, Barbazul and Taizz. Want to lean salsa? Try Mambo Café, with lessons on Wednesday nights. Light eats and jazz music can be found in the art-café Pimuco. During days try one of the local museums like Museo Muros, the Museum of Traditional and Herbal Medicine, or the Robert Brady Museum. Other attractions include the Palace of Cortes (built in 1535), Juarez and Morelos Garden, Teopanzolco, an archaeological site, the Nuestra Senora de los Milagros Church, Chapultepec Ecological Park, with its flora and fauna, and Borda Garden, with its fountains, artificial lake, restaurant and night club. Also check out Salto de San Anton, a ravine with a 36 metre waterfall.
