Casino Malibu General Escobedo

General Escobedo (or Escobedo) is a city in Nuevo Leon and part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. The population is just shy of 300,000. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the terrain which includes canyons, trails, deserts and forests. To the south of the city, there’s the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains, which are part of the National Park ‘Parque Nacional Cumbres de Monterrey’. About 7 km from Monterrey there’s also the La Estanzuela State Park. For more forestry, try the Parque Ecologico Chipinque. Outdoor activities here include hiking, climbing, mountain biking and bungee jumping. You might though, simply enjoy picnic lunches in the parks.

Gaming

After hours of trail hiking and other outdoor activities, find some R and R inside the casino. Try your hand in a selection of classic and video slot machines in various denominations. Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. The nearest, at around 5 km from the casino, is the Fiesta Inn. The hotel is located inside the Paseo Tec Plaza, is near the convention centre, and is around 30 minutes from the international airport. Rooms come equipped with a king sized bed and all rooms but the 1st have views overlooking the city. While here, be sure to talk to staff for information on all the nearby attractions worth checking out as well as for obtaining help arranging car rental.

Dining

Try some regional specialties like cabrito (roasted lamb), machaca (beef, scrambled eggs and toppings), and tacos de trompo (pork, chili peppers and pineapple). To try authentic Mexican cuisine, head to Fonda San Francisco, with its menu items like turkey and chicken cooked with pre-Hispanic inspiration. South-Mexican inspired cuisine is dished up in La Casa de Maiz. Vegetarians should head to La Zanahoria, with its mock-meat and eggplant plates. For Italian, you want Iannilli, with dishes like gnocchi, risotto and pizza.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s plenty of night life to be found. Try around Barrio Antiguo. For live music (Trova, jazz, classic, and blues), there’s La Tumba. If you prefer your music a little harder (electronic, alternative, and reggae) there’s Kokoloco. For the wee wee hours, head to Skizzo Electroclub. During days, head to one of the local museums like Horno3, a steel museum, Museo del Norests, Museo de Historia Mexicana, Museo del Vidrio, or the Centro Cultural Alfa. For green areas and municipal buildings, walk through Gran Plaza, or try the Macroplaza, with its parks, pools and fountains. If you prefer something a bit more scenic, try the Parque Ecologico Chipinque, with its hiking, mountain biking, bungee jumping, or even just to stop and check out the butterflies.
