Casino Palmas Escobedo

With a population of around 300,000, General Escobedo (or simply Escobedo) is a city in Nuevo Leon, and part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. For those who lean toward outdoor activities and are fans of beautiful, though rugged, outdoor surroundings, this may be a good city for you. South of the city you can find the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains, part of the Parque Nacional Cumbres de Monterrey. For more flora, there’s the Parque Ecologico Chipinque, or the La Estanzuela State Park, about 7 km south of Monterrey. Local terrain consists of deserts, canyons, trails and forests, so there’s good outdoor activities to be found.

Vegetarians should head over to La Zanahoria. Try their beregena gratinada – it’s eggplant with tomato and cheese. Italian classic like gnocchi, risotto and pizza are found in Iannilli. If you’re looking for more options, ask hotel staff to point you in the direction of popular venues nearby.

Attractions/NightLife

When looking for night life, try around Barrio Antiguo. Barring that, keep your eyes peeled for the venues with the largest crowds. For dancing, try Kokoloco. For local live music, there’s La Tumba. After hours, you should try Skizzo Electroclub. For some local culture and history, try one of the museums in the city, like the Museo del Noreste, Horno3, Museo del Vidrio, Museo Regional de Nuevo Leon or the Centro Cultural Alfa. Green areas include the Macroplaza and Gran Plaza. For parks, there’s the Parque Ecologico Chipinque, with 36 km of trails ideal for hiking or biking. Check out as well, the butterflies floating through the park, with 174 different species represented. Other activities include mountain climbing and bungee jumping. For something a bit more tame, you can always hang back at the hotel and enjoy drinks pool-side.
