There’s no lack of Mexican restaurants naturally. Options include Karne Garibaldi, La Anrigua and Cocina 88.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s plenty of night life to be found. Listen to live music in El Parian. Club tunes and the occasional drag show happen in La Prisciliana. For salsa (Thursdays and Saturdays), head to La Mutualista. If you’re interested in listening to live mariachi music, head on over to the Plaza de los Mariachis. An easy way to stroll through history and learn some local culture, is checking out the museums. Try the Jalisco Regional Museum, built in the beginning of the 18th century, For architecture, there’s the Metropolitan Cathedral, built in 1558, the Temple of San Juan de Dios and the Teatro Degollado. Other areas of interest in the city include the Rotunda de los Hombres Ilustres, built in 1952, and across the street from the Municipal Palace, the markets Mercado Libertad and Mercado de San Juan de Dios, and the Instituto Cultural Cabanas.
