La Paz is the capital city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur and has around 215,000 people. If you’re looking for ways to unwind during your holiday, consider hanging out at Malecon, the recently improved waterfront, with its beaches and pier and perhaps catch some live outdoor music. It makes for a nice stroll come sunset. If you’d sooner check out some of the attractions, try the museums Centro Cultural Esperanza Rodriguez, Museo Regional de Antropologia e Historia, Museo Comunitario de la Ballena or the cultural building Biblioteca de la Historia de las Californias. Whether you decide to hang indoors in the local historic/cultural buildings, or outdoors watching the sunset and walking along the beach, don’t forget the casino for a session of gambling.

Gaming

The casino provides a selection of classic and video slot machines in various denominations. There’s on-site bingo if you prefer. If you’re someone who’d sooner bet on the ponies and sports matches, there’s the sportsbook as well. Whatever your inclinations, you probably won’t have problems killing an hour or two. A bingo win or slots jackpot could go a long way to making your La Paz trip all the more memorable.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. 2.3 km from the casino you can find the Hotel Oasis. The hotel offers 168 spacious rooms coming equipped with cable television and air conditioning. On site you can find a swimming pool and wading pool as well as a restaurant. There are alternate accommodations around the city if proximity to the casino is not a priority. Choose the ones best suited to your budget and comfort levels or are closest to the attractions you intend on visiting.

Dining

You shouldn’t have any problems finding authentic Mexican cuisine around. Options include Rancho Viejo, El Michoacano, Kiwi, Bismark II and La Boheme. Vegetarians might opt for El Quinto Sol. If you’re looking for seafood, try Super Tacos Baja California with their fish and shrimp tacos or McFisher with menu items like marlin, clam, oyster and octopus. For classic fare, there’s Carlos ‘n’ Charlie’s, serving burgers, chicken, steak and pastas. If you want more options, have hotel and casino staff point you in the direction of the places most popular with tourists and locals.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s bars and clubs about, dependent upon what it is you’re looking for. For live music try Las Varitas or Colima By Café. For dancing, there’s La Pazlapa. For concerts and theatrical performances, try Teatro de la Ciudad. During days check out one of the several museums and cultural centres in the city, which include the Museo Comunitario de la Ballena, Museo Regional de Antropologia e Historia, the Centro Cultural Esperanza Rodriguez, the Unidad Cultural Profesor Jesus Castro Agundez (which houses the Teatro de la Ciudad) and the Biblioteca de la Historia de las Californias. Religious sites include the Santuario de la Virgen de Guadalupe and the Catedral de Nuestra Senora de la Paz. Other attractions include the Plaza Constitucion (or Jardin Velasco), the main plaza.

Rewards/Deals

The casino uses a player rewards system. Collect and redeem points toward food and beverage purchases. Ask staff for further details. The casino also runs various contests and promotions, so keep your eyes peeled for any during your visit.
