Casino Yak Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, with its 255,000-plus population, is a resort destination and 2nd largest city in the Mexican state of Jalisco. It was named after former Jalisco governor Ignacio Vallarta. You may be familiar with the city as a holiday hot spot and honeymoon getaway. There’s plenty of accommodations, restaurants, attractions and night life to be found. The beaches, of course, are highly popular as are the many activities associated with them, such as swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and wind surfing. Other exciting things to experience are swimming with dolphins, whale watching and taking a glass-bottomed boat tour. Consider taking a day trip out to the Marieta Islands, about a 30 minute boat ride from the Vallarta Marina with its wide array of sea birds and marine life.

Gaming

After longs days hanging out at the beaches and visiting various attractions, pop into the casino for a session of gambling. Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. Consider staying at the Golden Crown Paradise, an adult-only all-inclusive resort. Stay in one of their ocean view rooms or suites and dine in one of 4 restaurants. There’s also 3 bars, the Pool Bar, Pub Bar and Breeze Beach Bar. Sip drinks pool-side or pamper yourself in their spa. For business meetings, or special events like weddings, there’s the Convention Centre which can host anywhere from 80 to 450 people.

Dining

La Ribera offers breakfast buffets, a la carte lunches and themed dinners. For elegant dining, there’s Emiliano. If you’re near downtown, try El Arrayan with its classic Mexican fare. If you’re looking for seafood try either Le Kliff, perched (naturally) atop a cliff, or Adauto’s Beach Club. For Asian cuisine, there’s Archie’s Wok. You can also opt to dine back at the resort, or tour the city picking out your own favourite venues.

Attractions/NightLife

During days hit one of any local beaches like Playa Camarones (Shrimp Beach), Playa Olas Altas (High Waves Beach), Playa Boca de Tomates (Mouth of Tomatoes), Playa Los Muertes (Beach of the Dead) or Playa Conchas Chinas (Chinese Shells Beach). If you’re out looking for souvenirs, try the markets like the Mercado Municipal Cuale or the Mercado Isle Cuale. Local attractions include the Malecon (the newly reconstructed seashore), the Parish Church of Our Lady Guadalupe, the Cuale Archaeological Musem, and the Plaza de Armas, the city’s main square. Take a day trip out to the Marieta Islands, and have fun snorkeling and scuba diving and checking out the sea birds and various marine life like mantas, dolphins and humpback whales. When night falls, hit one of the local bars or clubs. These include Garbo Piano Bar, La Regadera, La Ingrata, CC Slaughters, and Club Roxy Rock House. Depending when you’re visiting, you might get to view one of the local Festivals. There’s the Flower and Garden Festival (February), the Electro Beach Festival (March), May Festival, Dia de Muertos (November) and Los Posadas (December).
