Queretaro (officially, the Free and Sovereign State of Queretaro) is one of the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico (if you include the Federal District). Its capital is Santiago de Queretaro. Things to do in and around the area include visiting the Pyramid at El Cerrito. Also check out El Fortin (literally: the small fort) built over a pre-Hispanic pyramid base back in 1876. The La Campana archaeological site, while discovered in the 20th century, dates back to 600 CE (or AD if you prefer). It has over 160 structures. For authentic Mexican cuisine, there’s plenty of restaurants about. Try Los Compadres, or La Mariposa, with menu items like Enchiladas Queretanas and tamales. For tacos, try La Cruz or Los Primos. For ceviche and other seafood items, there’s El Pata. Chicken dishes and Mexican fare are dished up in Pollos Los Nogales. When craving Italian try Il Diavolo. You could also walk around the city choosing new and exciting venues or ask hotel and casino staff to recommend a few places to you.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s bars and clubs around, depending what it is you want to do. For dancing try Kaah. If you want to listen to live jazz while sipping margaritas, head to Harry’s New Orleans Café. Head towards the downtown (Centro Historico) where you can find the Teatro de la Republica, the Palacio del Gobierno del Estado (Governor's Palace), the Palacio Municipal (City Hall), Jardin Guerrero, and the Jardin Zenea (the main square, complete with a gazebo). For churches there’s the El Carmen Church, the Santa Clara Church and the Santa Rosa de Viterbo Church. Other attractions include the La Campana archaeological site, the Pyramid at El Cerrito, and the State Regional Museum.
