Casino de Marrakech & Hotel Es Saadi

Marrakech is where old meets new, with its street markets and modern homes coming together. Tourists come here for both the culture and shopping and it’s both encouraged and shows – 19 new hotels alone were under way in 2012. You could spend days walking through the souks, haggling for all the wonderful souvenirs to bring home and keepsakes for yourself. For religious sites, visit the mosques, while for architecture try the Badi Palace. To simply walk and relax, head to the Royal Gardens. The resort has several things site on site to do, with their live shows, restaurants, bars and casino.

The 2400 sq ft. casino has 80 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals, plus an additional 14 tables games comprised of blackjack, punto banco, stud poker and American roulette. The casino runs high stakes poker tournaments like the International Texas Hold’em Tournament of Marrakech, and welcomes the World Poker Tour. Hotel/Accommodations

Stay at the Palace at the resort, with its 92 rooms and 10 private villas. Ask for a view facing the snow peaked Atlas Mountains. The Palace has a 2400 m swimming pool while each villa has its own pool, and gardens are spread across the grounds. Other amenities include a fitness centre, tennis courts, bars and restaurants, and Theatro for live entertainment. The hotel is 5 minutes from most local attractions as well as old town. The city has an abundance of hotels, so finding accommodations will not prove to be a problem. Check around and choose the one most in line with your budget or closest to the areas you plan on visiting.

Dining

For menu items like fish, liver, prawns, veal and lamb, try Autour de la Piscine. For authentic Moroccan cuisine find your new favourite eatery in town or try Cour des Lions, with its Foie Gras, lamb, and lobster. For Mediterranean cuisine there’s Lagon and Jardin where you can dine on the terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. If you’re feeling budget conscientious, ask hotel staff for tips on nearby eateries popular with the locals.

Attractions/NightLife

Visit Theatro with its jugglers and fire-eaters or head to one of the bars offering live entertainment like Martini Bar, The Piano Bar or Restaurant Marrakech. For drinks there’s the Egyptian Lounge, the Island Bar and several bars and nightclubs across the city. At the hotel, you can wine, dine, dance, take in a show, swim and sun by the pool, play tennis, stroll through the gardens or spoil yourself in the spa. For local attractions head to Badi (or Badii) Palace, the Royal Palace, and The Menara Gardens. For shopping head over to Jemaa el-Fnaa (also Djemaa el-Fnaa) and the Berber market. Wind your way through the souks and haggle yourself some awesome items to bring back home.
