Walk around the core to choose from any number of restaurants serving up authentic Nicaraguan cuisine. Find your own or ask for recommendations on popular venues from hotel and casino staffs.

Attractions/NightLife

For international liquors, rums, fine cigars and light snacks head to Clancy’s Bar. Happy hour runs from 6 pm until 8 pm daily. Managua is flush with bars and night clubs. Walk around downtown finding your own favourite watering-hole. To check out popular geographical features, try Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve with its 10,000 year old volcanic lagoons. If you’re interested in history, there’s the National Palace of Culture, the National Museum and the National Library. For monuments and architecture, try Monumento al Liberalismo, the National Palace and St James Cathedral. One of the most modern theatres in Central America can be found in the city- the Ruben Dario National Theatre. Should you happen to be in Managua during August, there’s the Santo Domingo de Guzman festival.
