Zona Pharaohs

Located in Managua, capital and largest city in Nicaragua, is Zona Pharaohs. Managua itself can be found on the southwestern shore of Lake Xolatlan, also called Lake Managua. The area is flush with lagoons, the most famous being the Laguna de Tiscapa and is in the Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve. Of volcanic origins, the lagoon was believed to have been formed some 10,000 years ago. If you’re interested in architecture, head to St James Cathedral or the National Palace. Inside the National Palace of Culture, you can find the National Museum with its pre-colombian statues and pottery. The area has been referred to as the cultural capital, so you shouldn't have have any problems finding restaurants, bars and local attractions.

Gaming

The casino has 100 gaming machines in total and an additional 4 table games consisting of roulette and blackjack. There are no hotels on site. About a block from the casino you can find Hotel Hex. Rooms here come in singles, doubles and junior suites and rooms come equipped with wi-fi, tvs and air conditioning. Perhaps not as close to the casino there are other hotels scattered throughout the city. Be sure to find the one that best fits your plans on what you might be seeing during your vacation.

Dining

The casino is located in the Multicenter las Americas which has a food court of various international cuisines. Restaurants near the casino include Mexicano Lindo, Rincon Mexicano and The Taquiza. Ask hotel and casino staff for recommendations on the best local eateries, popular with locals and tourists or most in line with your budget. Walk into the city finding one yourself serving up authentic Nicaraguan cuisine.

Attractions/NightLife

For bars, try Hipa Hipa’s, open Wednesdays through Sundays after 7 pm. Happy hour begins at 4 pm. Tour through the city trying any number of local bars and nightclubs. Head to the Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve or walk along the shore of Lake Managua. One of the oldest buildings in the area is the National Palace, undamaged by the earthquake of 1972. Check out St James Cathedral, the Plaza de la Revolucion and the Monumento al Liberalism. Other sites of interest are the Ruben Dario National Theatre, the National Palace of Culture and the National Library.
