Admiral New York City Casino

Established as a district in 1920, Magdalena Del Mar (or more commonly referred to as simply Magdalena) is in the Lima province of Peru. Located near the United Nations complex, you can walk along their age-old streets taking in some shopping, checking out markets or absorbing the view of the Pacific Ocean to the south. A monument of interest is that of Tupac Amaru II, leader of the uprising against the Spanish back in 1780, located in the main plaza, or visiting Inmaculado Corazon de Maria, a church found at the end of Av. Brasil. Explore Peruvian architecture and cobblestone streets, check out local museums or visit their local animal habitat to study Peruvian flora and fauna.

The casino has a total of 500 gaming machines, 365 of which are labelled video pokers, and 17 table and poker games and is the largest casino in Magdalena Del Mar by game count. The facility is open 24 hours daily so can easily accommodate both the early risers and the night hawks when it comes to satisfying an itch.

There are currently no hotels on site, however the nearest is a mere 0.1 km away (or three blocks) from the casino. The Melia Lima Hotel is a 5 star and offers 100 rooms in Deluxe, Executive, Junior Suite and Presidential Suite with air conditioning, mini bar, internet access and cable tv. Room service operates 24 hours daily. The hotel is located close to shopping, museums and galleries and is fairly near Jorge Chavez International Airport.

Dining

There are no restaurants on site however, there are nearby dining options. Check out International Restaurant El Tambo located in the hotel Melia Lima for themed buffets and a la carte options. If you’re just looking to unwind, meet some locals or order your favourite drink, there’s Miro Lobby Bar. Ask about their national drink, the Pisco Sour. Where do Italian and Peruvian flavours combine? At Trattoria Don Vito. Sample from their wine list or enjoy a dinner entrée. Options include curry and shrimp risotto and Lomo Saltado pizza. For dessert, try their crepe Suzette.

Entertainment/Nightlife

After a day of gaming or shopping, let loose at Jose Galvez, a nightclub in town for a few cocktails and dancing. Bring your camera and check out the water and light show at Circuito del Agua. Note that it’s closed Mondays. Take in some Peruvian art and culture at the Museo de Oro del Peru. Interested in native Peruvian Flora and Fauna? Then Zoologico de Huachipa is for you, housing over 2000 animals from 250 different species. Animals of interest are the black spider monkey, blue-headed macaw and the Tumbes crocodile.
