Tropicana

Miraflores district is considered by many to be the cultural centre of Lima. You can easily spend a day or two checking out the galleries and museums as well as the parks and gardens. After walking about the area, consider relaxing to a picnic lunch in one of the green areas. There are also several archaeological sites in the areas such as the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Incan temple. One of several museums is the Sala del Museo, with its pre-Columbian gold pieces. In the evenings, there are several bars, clubs and restaurants to frequent. Spend some time haggling for souvenirs at flea markets such as those at Parque Kennedy, or shop at Larcomar mall.

Gaming

The casino offers only a very modest 100 gaming machines. Stop in for an hour or two of light gaming before heading back into the city on your whirlwind Lima holiday. The casino is open 24 hours daily.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are currently no hotels on site. The nearest is 2 blocks from the casino, the Hotel MiraMar. Rooms come in standard 2 singles, standard queen, suite and triple occupancy. All rooms have wireless internet and include a breakfast buffet. Services include limited-hours room service, wake-up calls and a 24 hr. business centre. There is a coffee shop on site. Chat up hotel staff about any lesser-known attractions specific to the area.

Dining

There are no dining facilities on site. Nearby venues include Xin Xing with Chinese cuisine, Centrolla for Italian fare, and a KFC and Pizza Hut for those who want some back-home flavour. Alternately, walk around and choose from one of Miraflores’ many eateries to get some authentic Peruvian fare or shop at local markets to prepare your own picnic lunch to enjoy in the park. Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy a breakfast buffet.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Try Beat Bar a local disco or find your own local watering-hole and soak up some local culture while drinking a Pisco Sour. During days, visit the parks and gardens, museums and galleries and various archaeological sites scattered throughout the region. Haggle for souvenirs at the flea markets or shop at nearby malls. Evenings, hit local bars and clubs, dine at one of the many restaurants or take in a show at the theatre.
