Palacio Royal Piura

In the Piura province, in the Piura region, lies the city of (say it with me now) Piura. A historical curiosity of note is that this city was the first city founded in Peru, and the third Spanish city in South America, by conquistador Francisco Pizarro. A big tourist draw here are the beaches, particularly La Esmeralda Beach. If you’re interested in surfing, try Mancora Beach and Cabo Blanco. Opt for an all-in-one stay by using the casino hotel and using their taxi service to get to the beaches. They have their own bar and restaurant, so there's little need for footing it everywhere.

The casino offers a very humble 94 gaming machines, and 1 table game. There may be enough to kill an hour or two with some light gaming, but to be frank, the big draw here in town are the beaches. But after a day of surf and hot sun, some time spent indoors spinning away may be just what the doctor ordered.

If you’re more inclined toward clubbing, try the disco bar Toni’s or JJ (another disco), or find you own new favourite watering hole, chatting up locals and drinking Pisco Sours. The big tourist draw to Piura are their beaches, ideal for sunning, swimming and even surfing. Three nearby ones are La Esmeralda Beach (also known as Colan Beach), Cabo Blanco and Mancora Beach.
