Palacio Real Inca

San Borja is one of the newer districts in Lima. Once it was part of a larger region with both Isidro and Surquillo as sisters, but separated back in 1983 and has since formed its own distinct identity. The area is home to middle to upper class residents and is generous with its smattering of green areas (parks and gardens). Spend some afternoons strolling around and you’ll notice the quaint feature of having street names coined after popular and classic artists, such as Calle Van Gogh and Calle Redon to name a couple. After a long session of trekking throughout Lima consider some time out and taking in a picnic lunch or sitting and relaxing in the park, taking stock of your day and getting plans in order.

Gaming

The casino offers a very mild section of gaming machines, having just the 161, but still, several more than some of the other local venues. An hour or two could still be whittled away when you want out of the baking sun and to pick your feet up.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site but there is the nearby Palmetto Hotel within walking distance from the casino. They have 52 rooms which include flat screen tvs and wi-fi. There is an on-site restaurant where you can choose to take your meals. Breakfast and free parking are provided Spend some time chatting up the hotel staff and other guests for the heads-up on cheap eats, popular bars and little-known attractions.

Dining

There are no bars or restaurants on site. There are however, a fair few options from which to choose. For Asian inspired dishes opt for Choy Tac. For home-style meals Indian and Pakistan inspired, go for Guru Kebab and Curry. Consider checking out local markets for fresh produce, meats and fish and create your own picnic lunch to take to the park. Ask locals, hotel and casino staff for recommendations on local eateries. Alternately, choose to dine back at the hotel.

Entertainment/Nightlife

After some time on the gaming floor, pop into Strago’s. Locals and tourists alike hop on the mic to perform karaoke. Take your turn or cheer on other singers as you unwind to a cool alcoholic beverage. Club Germania is a fusion of Germanic and South American atmospheres. This social club runs random activities and has a full-service bar. Spend afternoons in one of the many nearby parks, lunching, sunning and planning your next move.
