Emerald Valley Resort and Casino

Emerald Valley Resort & Casino can be found in Kingstown, capital and chief port to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This is the chief primary entry for most tourists and there’s several things to do while vacationing here. Those athletically inclined or keen on the outdoors should check out the Vermont Nature Trail, the La Soufriere Volcano and the Arawak rock carvings. General areas of interest include the Botanical Gardens, Fort Charlotte and the Black Point Tunnel. If you’re here in July, be sure to check out Carnival. There are several bars, night clubs and restaurants here to help you fill your evenings as well.

The casino has rather slim picking, but think of the casino as more of the stopping station to check your breath during your holiday, rather than the destination. They offer 50 classic and video slot machines plus an additional 8 table games which include blackjack, Caribbean stud, craps and roulette. When you’ve finally tired of walking around the city, head indoors for a bit of light gambling, and a decent win could finance your evenings out for drinks and dining.

Hotel/Accommodations

The Emerald Valley Resort offers 24 standard rooms coming equipped with air conditioning and cable/satellite televisions and come with either balcony or terrace. Rooms are found in a low-rise cottage-style complex and amenities and services include an outdoor pool, a golf course, tennis and horseback riding. The resort is found about 5 minutes from town and 7 miles from the airport. Be sure to maximize your stay here by chatting up resort staff and getting information on local attractions as well as the best places to eat at in town.

Dining

There are several venues in town where you can take your meals – your decision on where to dine really comes down to your tastes and budget. Options include, Aggie’s Bar and Restaurant, Bobby’s Restaurant and Bar, Rainbow Palace, The Bounty and Vee Jay’s Restaurant and Bar. Ask casino and hotel staff for advice on which places are most popular with locals and tourists or walk around and choose whichever one happens to strike your fancy.

Attractions/NightLife

When looking for bars, there’s several in town, many of which also serve food like Aggie’s Bar and Restaurant, Basil’s Bar and Restaurant, Flow Wine Bar and Café and Vee Jay’s Restaurant and Bar. For pubs and clubs, try Shark Bar, Cool Runnings and Chillers. For upscale try Flow Wine Bar. There’s plenty of attractions to visit to fill your days. For historical sites, try Fort Charlotte or Fort Duvernett. For local flora, there’s the Botanical Gardens or the Montreal Gardens. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the trails along the Vermont Nature Trail or climbing La Soufriere Volcano. You can also try swimming in the Tobago Cays. If you happen to be visiting during July check out Carnival (or Vincy Mas) with its food, drinking and dancing as part of the celebrations.
