The casino, located in the New Africa Hotel, opened its doors in 1997. They’re a bit light in their slots selection but do offer other services. There’s currently 78 classic and video slot machines and video poker terminals as well as an additional 8 table games, consisting of cards and American roulette. When you feel like Thai cuisine made from fresh local ingredients, head over to Sawasdee Restaurant. For international and Indian dishes, you'll want Bandari Grill. This restaurant is open for breakfasts, lunches and dinner, 7 days a week and also offers seafood for those so inclined. There are several restaurants in the city, so you can always opt to head into the core finding your own new favourite eatery dishing up authentic African cuisine. Ask hotel or casino staff for recommendations on nearby eateries popular with both locals and tourists.

Attractions/NightLife

In the hotel you can find Onyx Lounge, serving your favourite drinks as well as food. Ask about their happy hour. When you’re looking to explore the culture of the region, try the House of Culture (once the King George V Museum) which opened its doors in 2011 to a new name. Or try the National Museum or Village Museum to walk through Tanzanian history. If you’re more keen on the hands-on, outdoor approach, head into Bamamoyo and check out the Kaole ruins. To check indigenous flora there’s the Botanical Gardens, and for marine fauna there’s the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve or the Bongoyo Marine Reserve, both good for snorkelling and scuba diving as well. The truly adventurous will want to take a safari through the Serengeti.
