Crystal Bay Club Casino

The Crystal Bay Club Casino, voted the best North Lake Tahoe Casino from 2008-2013 puts an emphasis on a clean, comfortable and quality experience and features some of the most cheerful customer service in the State of Nevada. This casino is housed at a historic location and is the first confirmed licensed casino in the area, it operated under the name Ta-Neva-Ho as of 1937 and was originally licensed to have Craps, Roulette and nine slot machines. If we fast-forward a couple of decades, the Ta-Neva-Ho was sold between 1955 and 1956 and reopened under the Crystal Bay Club name, which is a name that it has retained to the present day. It went through a variety of owners in the following decades, but kept its name and closed for a brief period beginning on May 25, 2002 having entered Chapter 13 liquidation. The casino would be closed just over a year, however, and new ownership (again opting to keep the name) renovated property-wide and reopened on July 31, 2003. The casino features a rustic look with a mountain lodge beam ceiling, natural rock pillars and wrought iron fixtures all accompanied by trees encompassing the building supports in the gaming pit area. This location is also ideal for watching sports as it features 30 big-screen HDTV's throughout the casino areas. A number of the TV's also feature music videos throughout the day. This casino also features a number of meeting and event venues with catering available.

Gaming

This casino features 262 of the newest and best ticket-in, ticket-out machines as well as ten table games. The ten casino games are comprised of three different games including Blackjack, Craps and Roulette. Craps players used to the 5x-100x odds that can be found at casinos in Vegas may be a bit disappointed, however, as this casino only offers double odds on the Craps Tables. In terms of the machines, the casino features some statewide Progressive slots as well as a smorgasbord of the newest and most popular slot machines available in a wide variety of denominations. The casino puts a premium on comfort, however, as the machines are not packed-in too close to one another, as they are with some casinos, and there is ample floor space for walking around without bumping into people. While the video poker returns may leave something to be desired, there are a wide array of available games and denominations. Finally, this casino features one of the only truly non-smoking gaming areas. As opposed to most casinos that offer a, "Non-Smoking," area which is usually just an area of the main floor with, "No Smoking," signage and no separation or partitions, this casino features a walled off separate non-smoking area in what used to be its poker room. This casino is also home to a William Hill Sports Book location.

Hotel/Accommodations

The hotel in this casino is known as the, "Border House," even though it is not a distinct business entity from the casino. This hotel contains ten rooms and is on the National Register of Historic Places and operates basically as an upscale hotel. The rooms in this hotel feature gas fireplaces, chromotherapy tubs, plasma TV's and wireless Internet. The floors are done in warm hardwood and the bathroom fixtures are a combination of fossil and marble. The room types are Junior Suites and Deluxe Suites which vary mostly by size. There is a specialty suite, as well, which features fine robes and linens as well as a coffeemaker and refrigerator. All rooms are non-smoking.

Dining

The Steak & Lobster House is open Wednesday-Saturday, with hours depending somewhat on traffic and reservations, and is a five-star restaurant with prices to match. It is a very popular destination for those in the Tahoe area, though, and reservations are strongly recommended. The Bistro Elise is an Italian Bistro and is the property's casual restaurant featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner.
