Jim Kelley's Tahoe Nugget

Jim Kelly's Tahoe Nugget, more commonly known simply as, "Tahoe Nugget," is a small casino consisting of 3,500 square feet of gaming space and is located in Crystal Bay, Nevada, near Lake Tahoe. This casino is primarily frequented by locals as well as people who happen to be visiting other Crystal Bay casinos such as Crystal Bay Club or Tahoe Biltmore. This casino is housed in a simple building with a faux-brick façade and advertises itself on a somewhat small stand-alone sign in front as well as the word, "Nugget," in neon lights above the main entrance with what look like Christmas decoration, "Icicle," lights surrounding it. Otherwise, the building is pretty non-descript but for a few potted plants on either side of the main entrance. Were it not for the signage, this building could be anything.

Gaming

There was a time a few years ago when the Tahoe Nugget offered slots, table games and even two poker tables, but that time has come and gone. Presently, the casino houses 112 slot, video poker and video keno machines. As one might expect from a small casino, while the machines are updated from time-to-time, one should not go in here expecting the most state of the art games. That said, this casino does have an expansive variety of games and denominations available as well as bartop video poker. We must advise live poker players to avoid this casino as neither this one nor the larger Crystal Bay Club or Tahoe Biltmore Casinos offer live poker anymore, so Crystal Bay is not the best town to visit if that is what you are looking for.

Hotel/Accommodations

This casino does not have a hotel, fortunately, there are two casinos within a couple of hundred feet that do have hotels and those are the Crystal Bay Club (boutique type hotel with ten rooms) and the Tahoe Biltmore.

Dining

This casino features an outdoor eating venue known as the Nugget Grill which is nothing short of a favorite for locals who tend to rave about the burgers and the beef brisket. One should keep in mind that this restaurant is only open during the Summer months, and doesn't necessarily open back up on the same day every year, so we recommend you call and see if it is open.

Entertainment/Nightlife

This casino features a small outdoor amphitheater that often has performances on weekends and holidays during the Summer. We suggest you call for the schedule.
