Mermaids Casino

Granted, this is exactly what we said about sister property, La Bayou, but Mermaids is just plain cool. Located on the Fremont Street Experience, which features free nightly concerts, free nightly light shows and complimentary wireless Internet, this casino has been know to feature some of the best (read: hopelessly decadent and unhealthy, but, oh so tasty) snack foods available in all of Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to that, the excitement of Fremont Street certainly doesn't stop at the door as Mermaids features the same party atmosphere as found at sister property, La Bayou. As you approach the tropical-themed Mermaids, one of the ladies dressed in something of a clown costume with feathers will come and adorn you with free Mardi Gras beads. Upon entering, the player will find that this location offers some of the fastest cocktail services available in all of Vegas. At any given time, there are three-five ladies on the floor who have been known to dish them out two or even three at a time. This casino, quite simply, is a place to go and have a quick drunk and a great time!

Gaming

Mermaids Casino features about 245 of the latest and greatest Slot, Video Poker and Video Keno machines. In addition to newer games, such as Quick Hits and Wheel of Fortune, Mermaids also features a smattering of vintage machines that are tough to find anywhere else as well as some coin-dropper machines. It's fair to say that this casino comes nowhere close to having liberal Video Poker offerings, but it's really a place people go to more for the party atmosphere.

Hotel/Accommodations

Unfortunately, Mermaids does not operate its own hotel, however, there are a number of casino/hotels located at the Fremont Street Experience including, The D, Four Queens, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget and Fremont. Other nearby casino/hotels include The Plaza, El Cortez, California, Main Street Station and Downtown Grand.

Dining

It would be a stretch to say Mermaids has a restaurant, but the bar features some of the most decadent snack foods available which have been known to cost a paltry $0.99/each. These treats include deep-fried oreos, deep-fried Twinkies and chocolate-covered bananas. There are a number of restaurant options at any of the casinos located on, or around, the Fremont Street Experience. Fremont Street is also home to the nationally-featured (Food Network, Travel Channel) Heart Attack Grill.

Entertainment/Nightlife

This casino itself has an excellent nightlife and boisterous atmosphere. It is also located in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience which features free nightly concerts, free nightly light shows and some of the best street performers in Vegas. Further, there are a great number of casinos within walking distance that feature various shows and musical acts. Finally, if you have an interest in adult entertainment, Mermaids is a sister property of Fremont Street's only strip club, Glitter Gulch.
