Mortimers Card Room

If you are looking for glamour and ambiance Mortimer’s Card Room is not the place, however if you are looking for a local feel in the Bay Area it’s perfect. Situated in a busy part of town in Marina and nearby Marina Club. The no frills card room is dedicated to Poker and serious minded players to pull a chair with little wait times in a casual atmosphere. A parking lot is adjacent to the side of the building with plenty of spots for vehicles. Mortimer’s established in 1938 has mementos of their early beginnings decorated throughout. At the moment there is no official website.

Gaming

Mortimer’s Card Room offers Texas Hold’em Limit and No Limit games. It caters to the High Roller where it is the most available room for big bankrollers in a 50 mile radius. Players vary with the typical calling stations but overall it is average or better skilled players. Tournaments are available throughout the day and evening with typical buy-ins ranging from 100 – 500 for No Limit. The rake varies on the number of players at the table with $3 max for a table of 7 – 9 players. Rebuy and unlimited rebuy Tournaments are available. There is also one Blackjack table offering a Bust Bonus feature that pays the player a payout of 2:1 if dealer busts.

Mortimer’s is considered a restaurant and card room providing a full menu of Mexican food. The restaurant has a reputation for serving up excellent Mexican dishes in a casual less formal atmosphere.

Entertainment/Nightlife

There is a full service bar next the card room serving up your favorite mixed drink, beer and wine. Local entertainment is not prominent in this mainly business area however there is the Marina Club across the street featuring low limit Poker.

Due the casual environment and local characteristics there are no special perks or rewards offered at this time. The independently owned Card room does serve free soft drinks and coffee to players.
