Harrah's Metropolis Casino

In the small town of Metropolis, Illinois, you’ll find Harrah’s along the beautiful Ohio River. If the name sounds familiar and you can’t quite place it, that’s probably because the city of Metropolis holds the same name as Clark Kent’s (aka Superman) fictional hometown. In fact, this city is home to The Super Museum, an homage to the superhero. In addition, Metropolis is close to several attractions including Fort Massac Park and the Museum of the American Quilter’s Society, which is actually located in Paducah, Kentucky, is just a stone’s throw away. Originally a boat, the casino was renovated on 2014 turning it into a land based gaming establishment.

Dining

Along with the renovations came a new restaurant, Bridges Dining Company. The restaurant serves a variety of southern favorites including fried catfish, hushpuppies and pecan pie. The Fresh Buffet is a small buffet with cuisine from around the world but the quality of the food is not the greatest. In fact, it’s among the worst casino buffets we’ve ever been to, which is a very surprising consider it’s inside Harrah’s. The restaurants inside Harrah’s are generally good but the Fresh Buffet is a major fail.

Entertainment/Nightlife

As with any casino, you’ll find a bar featuring live entertainment, drinks, snacks and sports broadcasted on TV’s. Metropolis has several local hot spots near the casino so if you want more than what Harrah’s has to offer in terms of entertainment, check out the town.
