Montclair Hotel & Casino

North of the Vumba Mountains and south of the Imbeza Valley lies Mutare, 3rd largest city of Zimbabwe and home of the Montclair Hotel & Casino. Tourists coming here won’t be lacking for things to do and see, with its scenic country-side, mountains, game reserves, museums and attractions. Gaming

The casino offers 35 slot machines and video poker terminals as well as an additional 12 table games which consist of blackjack and roulette. Slots open at the casino at 10 am while the table games begin at 8 pm. Try your luck at blackjack and with a good run at cards with a few 21s falling your way, you might just pay for a few more nights out on the town. The casino also has its own bar on site.

Hotel/Accommodations

The 4 star hotel has 85 rooms which come equipped with cable/satellite televisions and provides stunning views of the Nyanaga Mountains. There are two restaurants on site, there's tennis courts and an outdoor pool, and the hotel is close to most major attractions. Be sure to talk to hotel staff about finding the best places to visit to fully maximize your days touring the city. If you don’t mind sleeping in the outdoors, there’s Caravan Park with its camping facilities, located approximately 3 miles outside the city.

Dining

The hotel has two restaurants on site. One, with its buffet dining, can seat up to 200 guests and has a dance floor for those wishing to kick up their heels. The second offers a la carte dining and can seat 60. Menu items run the gamut from children’s meals to vegetarian dishes and specialties like Nyanga trout. Alternately, trek into town finding your own new favourite venue serving up authentic African cuisine.

Attractions/NightLife

If you’re at the casino, there’s a bar inside, or you can choose one of 2 venues back at the hotel. Near reception you can find Crusader Bar while upstairs you can take in a sporting event at The Sports Bar. About 5 min. from the hotel you can find the Claremont Golf Course if you’re keen on playing a few holes. If you’d like to check out the local wildlife, there’s the Cecil Kop Nature Reserve. To soak up natural outdoor surroundings, try Nyanga National Park. Visit the Nyanga mountains for quality hiking, climbing and general sight-seeing. For those interested in museums there’s the Utopia House Museum, Mutare Museum, The National Gallery and Iron Age Village. Visit the Civic Centre Complex which houses the Courtland Theatre, the Mayor’s Parlour and the Turner Memorial Library.
