The story of Spinmatic Entertainment began in 2012 and eventually led to the opening of its first office in Istanbul the following year. Today the company also has offices in Spain and its headquarters in Malta. While games such as Egyptian Stone, Mr. Hat Sunshine and Galacnica were released over the next few years, the first client wasn’t secured until 2017 after successful appearances at industry events such as ICE Totally Gaming and G2E Asia Macao earlier in the year. They’ve since hit the trade shows hard exhibiting at EIG Berlin and Sigma in Malta. The portfolio focuses on slot games and now exceeds 30 titles ranging from classic themes to progressive jackpots.
The aptly named company naturally specializes in slots, which are certified by RNG and iTech Labs. At first glance the themes and graphics looked promising, so we dove right in to test the performance and check out the bonuses. Choosing a game is a matter of personal preference, but we started with a tried and true theme, Ancient Egypt, with the Egyptian Stone game. It’s reminiscent of Egyptian Heroes from NetEnt including the expanding wild symbols in the free spins bonus, but alas, it’s the only feature of the game. Base gameplay falls flat, but if you’re feeling risky, you can gamble your winnings with the unique gamble feature. Choose the correct symbol that will appear in the tomb and double your payout.
Next up was Mr. Hat: Before the Sunrise. This is a 20-line slot based on a London-based killer, Mr. Hat, and Lt. Carter who’s tasked with apprehending him. Linked Wilds transform nearby symbols turning them wild to create more opportunity for wins. The Scatters trigger 5 or 10 free spins including multipliers of up to 5x. It’s certainly got an eerie feel much like NetEnt’s The Invisible Man.
Overall, it’s safe to say they took some inspiration from fellow providers, but trying something new keeps things exciting. It’s still early days and we expect to see plenty more good things coming from this studio.
