The Games Company
As the name suggests The Games Company (TCG) develops a range of online products for players looking to discover new feature-filled favorites. While the team behind such creativity is based in Portugal, the company was founded in 2012 by a couple of fellows, Hans Winkelmann and Ian Matthews, that were keen to show us their spin on video slots.
After previously working on game development for Bwin.party, the pair moved on to build a brand of one-of-a-kind games using HTML5 technology to optimize play for desktop, mobile and tablet devices. A Remote Gaming Server (RGS) powered by Black Cow eventually joined the product lineup supporting the integration TGC’s own brand of games as well as those from 3rd party providers.
From independent provider to an in-house powerteam
The company was acquired by SkyRocket Entertainment at the end of 2019. At that point, The Games Company had been operating just shy of four years, releasing only a handful of games. That handful turned out to be quite a lot when you factor in the quality of these slots, as well as how unique they are. It’s not only the games that SkyRocket was after, but also the partnerships and integrations we mentioned in the previous paragraph.
How this move pans out for the company in the long run is not yet clear. For now, they seem to continue as they are, producing games as an independent studio. Dedication to quality and results that speak for themselves clearly matter.
Product Tour
Though small, the portfolio is promising including titles such as Mariachi Mayhem, Witch of the West, Cash Cowboy, Monster Mash, Light Racers, Two Tribes and KGB Bears. Packed with excitement, each title is amped up with special features from Colossal symbols to free spins, multiplier reels, wilds and reel modifiers.
In the past, games were distributed via Odobo and continue to reach players via partners such as NYX Gaming Group, Gaming Realms and Geco Gaming, to name a few.
