The Land-Based and Interactive Gambling Legislation Bill was finally passed at the beginning 2020 and thus Ukraine became a country with legal land-based and online gambling!

Of course, there was still the problem of illegal operators. The Ukrainian Cyber Police teamed up with the Office of Strategic Investigation in Kyiv to crack down on illegal online casinos. Ahead of market regulation, the Ukrainian telecom regulator has asked ISPs to block 32 online gambling websites.

So Zelensky signed the Gambling Act and online casinos finally got permission to apply for licensing. The bill proposed 10 online licenses, the same number of online betting licenses and 5 online poker licenses.
