Ever heard of the phrase, A Switch in Time saves nine? Rival gaming clearly has, but thankfully have themed their slot in a literal sense rather than using political route of which the saying originated. This 5 reel slot has been designed with items from the the past to give the impression that the player has achieved time travel, we told you the name was literal.
Theme
You take on the role of an old school professor who has invented an time machine, the slot changes depending on which time era you are in.
Old lanterns, pocket watches, a coy lady, parchment and sand timers are just some of the items found on the reels in the first time zone. The music is fairly repetitive, pretty standard for a slot but does help you get into the groove.
When the bonus feature is unlocked you are transferred either forward or back in time. The past is represented by dinosaurs, cave drawings and mud huts whilst the future turns the reel symbols into a futuristic alien filled landscape. When transported to a new ‘time’ the paytable changes to reflect the symbols on the reels. This makes A Switch in Time a triple threat, it is in effect three slots in one.
Betting Options
You can opt to play from 0.01 to 0.25 per coin, select 1 to 10 coins per line and play between one and 15 lines at a time. This makes the minimum stake 0.01 per spin whilst the maximum adds up to 50.
Features
There are three main features to look out for on ‘A Switch in Time’, the simplest is the free spins feature which is unlocked once three or more lady symbols are shown. The free spins run on their own and offer a three times multiplier if you roll in a winner.
The hour glass/sand timer icon is a wild card, this replaces any other symbol where a winning combination is possible. The only symbol it can’t replace is the time machine symbol which unlocks the bonus round.
The bonus round is unlocked with three or more time machine symbols, there is a different bonus round in each time zone. Our favorite was the past one, where you fight off dinosaurs with a range of weapons.

This game I thought I would like but it turns out that I don't like the bonus journey slots. It keeps me sucked it when I want to stop. I did well at first playing it but went on a loosing streak and haven't been back since. It's an ok game if you like the journey bonus rounds, i guess.

All my first 30 turns were dead spins, so I felt tired and that made me think if it is worth to keep playing this game. I think maybe wild symbol should be a more dynamic symbol in order to make of this a little more interesting game, of course, improving chances to actives bonus and free spins rounds.

But could be a good game for wagering because the last time I played it with minimum stakes, I got easily up from 25€ tp 100€ balance because of those regular bonus rounds.

You can expect some good winnings from the bonus round, the problem is how long do you have to wait for it and still there is the possibility to chose bad during the bonus round and get a few credits. For a RIVAL game is it not bad because you can enjoy 20 lines, hey, big deal.
