‘Aces and Eights’ is a game that was once known as “Dead Man’s Hand.” This game has a long history before it became a popular video poker game.
Real Time Gaming (RTG), a leading manufacturer and developer of online casino software, offers Aces and Eights as one of its video poker options. The player has to only beat one opponent to win. This means that you will not have to play against other players but just against the house. The game is played with a deck of 52 cards and there is no wild card. The cards are randomly shuffled after each round of play and in Aces and Eights certain hands have a higher payout. They are: Four of a kind (Aces or Eights), four of a kind (sevens), four of a kind (others). The highest payout of all is for the Royal Flush which consists of a ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all in the same suit.
The goal of the game is to construct the best possible hand from the cards the player is dealt. The player has to decide how many hands he wants to play at the same time. He then starts picking the chips that he wants to bet and then he has to choose how much he wants to play per hand. The hand is evaluated by the number of cards with the same rank, from the same suit, or cards in consecutive order. The player wins when he builds one of the specified hands.

Just started playing poker recently and this game as well. I did okay on it but at this point I prefer playing jacks or better.

With Real Time Gaming having such a wide selection of video poker games, I expect this would already have to be your favourite version to make it worth playing on-line. Although all of the RTG video poker games share the same graphics and user interface, it is reasonably intuitive and will most likely appeal to those who...
With Real Time Gaming having such a wide selection of video poker games, I expect this would already have to be your favourite version to make it worth playing on-line. Although all of the RTG video poker games share the same graphics and user interface, it is reasonably intuitive and will most likely appeal to those who already play Video Poker perhaps in land based casinos. The paytables tend to be reasonable but can vary between different RTG operators so be sure to choose a reputable casino such as High Noon or others in the Club World group if your going to play RTG, as there as some seriously shady operators out there as well!!

Realtime gaming offer an excellent selection of video poker games, perhaps not surprising with their emphasis on the USA market and video poker being such a huge game over there. Aces Eights is an interesting variation, a lot more fun than regular old Jacks or Better, the paytable offers some decent wins for the better...

Aces Eights is an interesting variation, a lot more fun than regular old Jacks or Better, the paytable offers some decent wins for the better hands without sacrificing as much at the bottom end as the Dbl Dbl Bonus type games. RTG's paytable is typically generous too, and you can play in a wide range of coin sizes in real mode as well (not here at LCB).
