Alien Hunter uses the ever popular Playtech software for its backbone, and includes a cartoonish theme where aliens are the foe and the player is the hunter. It’s not gory or bloody though, quite the opposite as we’d compare the theme more to a game of hide and seek which makes playing a fun experience.
Alien Hunter Slot Theme
Welcome aboard the Alien Hunter express, a starship with a mission to outer space. The reels have been designed to look like a space age control panel complete with lime green line markers and 80s style computer screen background.
There are three different aliens to capture which include one which looks like a goldfish, a green alien and a purple octopus like alien. Other reel icons include caged aliens, eggs, spaceships, the alien hunter and metal styled 10, J, Q, K and A symbols.
There’s also an authentic set of sound effects which accompany every action. For example reel spins produce a spaceship sound, and each of the bonus games uses different sound effects. Whether they be phaser shots, a dripping cave or a mischievous alien trying to evade capture - Alien Hunter has it all.
Betting Options and More Functions
Pounds, Euros or Dollars. Alien Hunter, or more accurately its hosting casino, will offer these currencies and more. Players can wager a variety of bets spanning the 0.25 to $/£/€5 range using the coin value, number of coins and lines options located beneath the reels.
Players can also opt to use the dollar ball mode which allocates players five lotto balls. Each spin produces a mini lotto draw which awards prizes when two or more balls are matched. If all five balls are matched the progressive jackpot, which is displayed above the reels, is awarded.
Alien Hunter Slot Features
The caged alien icon is wild, in a substituting sense and emotional one. As it rattles the cage bars it acts as a substitute for any other symbol, on any reel, apart from the bonus scatters.
The scattered spaceship is another useful icon because it awards prizes when three, four or five appear in any position. This awards 5x, 10x to 25x the triggering stake respectively.
Three eggs symbols will start the first bonus round. During this round you are faced with an eerie, echoing cave filled with neon blue eggs. You click on the eggs to collect bonus wins, or multipliers and continue to do so until you find an alien within.
Three or more hunter symbols will challenge players to go head to head with the aliens for cash rewards. The sharpshooters mode asks you to choose automatic or skill mode. The latter puts gun in hand and asks you to manually shoot the aliens running around the screen. Each alien awards a bonus amount and will not end until you’ve shot all six, or fifteen seconds has counted down.
Our Take on Alien Hunter
Alien Hunter uses an entertaining theme which some will enjoy and others won’t. It’s the same story with other slots as it will eventually come down to personal preference. The software is solid, features entertaining and we love the addition of the progressive jackpot dollar ball game. Let us know what you think by reviewing our free version on the LCB free slots page.
