The rich and colorful world of Ancient Maya provides the inspiration for Anaconda Wild, the latest five-reel slot from Playtech.

This developer is now in its twentieth year of activity, and though they have been on the cutting edge of some developments in the industry in their time, this slot cannot be said to be terribly original. Still, the overall design is strong and RTP is (slightly) above-average.

Theme

This title is set in the Central American jungles in which the mighty Mayan Empire established itself by at least 2600 BCE. Light-hearted, synthesized flute music combines with birdsong to present a soothing, elevated vision of this time and place. A massive temple rises behind the reels… the setting could be taken directly from the set of an Indiana Jones film.

Gaming symbols include treasure chests of lapis lazuli, purple chalices, jade sun medallions, emerald swords, and ruby bangles, as well as a strikingly elegant woman, who acts as the top-paying symbol. The four playing card suits proved lower-value symbols.

A red and gold-embossed wild symbol substitutes for others to form winning combinations, while its slightly shapelier cousin does the same while also triggering the Anaconda Wild Re-Spins feature.

Betting Options and Functions

Civilizations and architecture that span multiple millennia are not put together by chance – neither has Playtech taken any chances in their design schematics for this slot. Every detail is well attended-to.

There are a whopping 50 fixed paylines, all paying from left to right. Bet size is set simply along an astonishing bet range, from 0.25–2500 times the betting currency. Our Take

Playtech has accomplished a great deal in its 20 years as a leading slot developer, but this slot is unlikely to loom large in its annals as time goes on. RTP is only average, and bonus features are well below-average, two elements that no amount of appealing visuals can overcome.
