People around the world have become quite familiar with Norse mythology thanks to the hit TV series “Vikings”. Now we all know who Odin is, we do recognize Thor and his hammer, and some might be really in awe of Freya. 

Asgard is the place where all these gods live, and you can take a quick tour of it in Asgardians, a video slot that was inspired by Scandinavian mythology. Sounds quite promising, let’s see if the game does deliver. 

Theme

The reels are set right in the middle of what seems to be a shrine inside a temple, surrounded by a pleasant blue light. There gods and goddesses are right inside the reels, they are the most important symbols in the game. 

There is a discrete background music in Asgardians, at times it is barely noticeable, but it does a good job of creating a mysterious atmosphere. The sound effects are not as good, though, mainly because most of them are not even remotely related to the theme.

• The Forge

Conclusion

Asgardians is a pretty entertaining video slot from Endorphina, a fantastic trip into Scandinavian mythology. The whole atmosphere of the game is enjoyable, even though at times the sound effects can break that spell. 

Also, I would have expected the background to have at least some slight animations, it’s quite frustrating to see a still image of a flame in this context. The characters do get animated when they make up winning combinations, and watching those animations is quite rewarding.
